I am a photographer and director working across photography, documentary film, and visual communication.
For over twenty years, my work has explored people, places, borders, and identity. Rooted in reportage and portrait photography, my practice has gradually expanded into directing and creative direction, while keeping the same focus: the relationship between people and the places they inhabit.
I am interested in how landscape, memory, culture, work, and social and political change shape both individual and collective identities.
Alongside my personal artistic practice, I am a partner at Aicod, a communication agency where I develop photographic, audiovisual, and multimedia projects for cultural, institutional, tourism, and corporate clients. Recent work includes directing The Routes of Emilia-Romagna: Stories, Landscapes and Flavours (I Cammini dell’Emilia-Romagna. Storie, paesaggi e sapori, )a six-part documentary series exploring 37 regional routes.
My work has been exhibited internationally and across Italy, and has received awards and recognition. I also collaborate with Borghi Magazine.
Born in Durrës (Albania), I interrupted my studies at the Faculty of Physics in Tirana during the fall of the communist regime in 1991 and moved to Italy. In Parma, I completed my university education in Physical Methodologies at the Faculty of Mathematical, Physical, and Natural Sciences of the University of Parma. Science and art may seem distant, but to me they begin in the same place: observing, finding connections, and trying to understand what lies before us.
I live and work in Parma, developing projects in Italy and abroad.
